Classes and Workshops

What are the possibilities at Key Town Swing?

At Key Town Swing we offer weekly classes and workshops in a variety of different Vintage Swing dance styles. Our main focus has always been Lindy Hop, with Charleston and Authentic Jazz (or Solo Jazz) added in weekly classes, and Collegiate Shag. Other dance styles like Blues and Boogie Woogie are offered from time to time as well.

Unless otherwise specified, all our weekly classes take place at our studio in the monumental Volkshuis Leiden, located at Apothekersdijk 33.

If you want to seriously work on your technique one-on-one, or want help in creating your wedding dance, you might want to consider taking private classes with us. It is also possible to book us to teach a company workshop or group class, for instance for your bachelor(ette) party!

We will start another beginner course Lindy Hop and a beginner course Collegiate Shag on 9 June!

At the moment, we only offer Lindy Hop classes: level 1 (beginners) started in March, and levels 2 and 2.5. Please send us a message if you already have some Lindy Hop experience and want to join our Lindy 2 or 2.5 classes.

If you're interested in Tap, Solo Jazz, or Blues, please contact us. We'll consider (re)starting these courses if there's enough interest.

Full Schedule

All class dates are continuous, without any breaks or holidays.

Tuesday
Lindy Hop level 1: 3 March - 2 June, 19:30-20:30 (13 weeks)

Starting from 9 June:
Collegiate Shag beginners: 9 June - 14 July, 18:45-19:45 (6 weeks)
Lindy Hop beginners: 9 June - 14 July, 20:00-21:15 (6 weeks)

Wednesday
Lindy Hop level 2: 29 April - 15 July, 19:00-20:00 (12 weeks)
Lindy Hop level 2.5: 29 April - 15 July, 20:15-21:15 (12 weeks)

Class Fees & Discounts
Beginner courses are:
€162,50 (13 classes, €12,50 per hour)
€93 (6 classes, €15,50 per class, 75 minutes)

Both other courses (Lindy 2 and 2.5) are €164 (12 classes, €14 per hour).

Signing up with a partner and/or with no role preference* gives you a 10% discount.
Signing up for extra courses in the same block gives you a 25% discount on those courses.
Students can apply for a 20% discount.

*) Our 'no role preference' discount does not apply to our level 1 (beginner) course.
